Description
WHITE'S HAIR RESTORATIVE,Circa 1840-1860
A very nice bottle which is very rarely found.
Aqua, oval, open pontil, applied tapered collar mouth.
Dozens of tiny, tiny bubbles.
Has a translucent whitish, slight iridescence residue inside.
Measures 6.25" high x slightly over 2.5" wide x 1.75" front to back.
Weight is 5.7 ounces before packaging.
This bottle is in great condition with
NO chips and barely any foot wear at the base...
I
t does have a
tight hairline at the base. It starts at the left side back, comes to the front and travels along the front edge, and then curls up to the "S" on the word White's (see photo).
Still clinks like a solid bottle.
Bottle has a slight wobble when standing.
This product was sold by E. White, of Lowell Mass.
My last photo shoes an advertisement in 1850 in the Bangor (Maine) Daily Whig.
"Extremely rare" as noted in the "Antique Trader Bottles Identification and Price Guide" by Michael Polak.
