    Description

Hand Crafted Apache Twined Basketry Tus or Pitch Covered Basket Canteen Made from Gathered Native Wild Plants and Pine Resin with a Natural Braided Fiber Handle
    Circa: 1900 - 1950
    8 1/2 inches high x 8 2/3 inches in maximum diameter
Condition; Very Good: There is wear appropriate and common to an old Tus both on the body of the item and the handle.
This is a good example of an Apache canteen. The item is charismatic and interesting. The tus looks better in person than in the photos which do not capture the items charming rustic appeal.
The Apache Homeland is in South Eastern Arizona and South Western New Mexico.
This item was from a Northern California estate.
