Antique Pewter Boat Shaped, Footed Pewter Teapot, James Dixon & Son, England, c. 1825 - 1850. This boat shaped teapot is an ornate examples with a ribbed or reeded body. The teapot stands on four shaped feet. The teapot has a hinged lid and wooden finial and handle, which are both painted black. The teapot is marked, "DIXON & SON - 4." Inside the teapot is it's receipt from the purchase on 10/3/97, for . This is a fine pewter boat shaped teapot offered with no reserve and a Buy It Now. James Dixon & Sons Sheffield firm, founded in 1806 by James Dixon. In 1811 became a partnership Dixon & Smith. In 1822 the company moved to Cornish Place and became Dixon & Son, then in 1835 became James Dixon & Sons. The firm continued to be a family run enterprise until 1976. The teapot is offered with no reserve and a Buy It Now! DIMENSIONS: The teapot is 6 5/8" H. x 4 3/8" W. x 11 1/4" L. from the tip of the spout to the back of the handle. CONDITION: The overall condition is good with the handle broken in two spots and glued back together. This still displays well, and can be picked up by the handle. It should be for display only.
