Antique, Pres.George Washington's Tomb at Mt Vernon,SCARCE Prattware jar pot lid

$ 94.51

Availability: 100 in stock
  • Condition: In fairly good condition....fine glaze crazing on lid and base section which is totally customary for these old antique pieces. Also, there is a side flange "boomerang line & surface line" as indicated in my pics (see pic 6)....this seems on the outside surface only, as it does not show through at all, on the flip-side of the lid.(see pics 7 & 8)The base section is drawn from my supply of spares and is from the same time period (ca 1870-90's) It is an OK match and is only slightly loose fitting, but display's this interesting historic lid nicely. The base has some staining...not uncommon.(see pic 7) Please check out all the pics and if you have any questions, please ask them prior to committing to buy. Thanks.

    ...
    the home of our first President
    and founding father!
    In the
    year 1860
    , Queen Victoria's eldest son, the Prince of Wales, paid a visit to Washington's tomb at Mt Vernon....the first of English royalty to so, since the Revolutionary war...and this is what the scene on the lid depicts.
