Vintage Northeast Native American Indian Ash Market Basket Blue Bands
Large vintage Northeastern Native American Indian market basket with blue bands as shown, 20" x 12" x 9 1/2" tall (does not include the additional height of the handle). The handle is 15 1/4" tall overall. This is made from sturdy ash splints, 4 cracked or partially missing, mainly shows from inside and mostly these are in the lower corners. It does not detract from the beauty of this basket, beautiful old patina as well as hand written 1 1/2# near the handle on one side. The handle is carved and notched wood. Great size for any kind of storage or market basket produce. All sides are shown in the photos.
