Carter's Vintage Fountain Pen (Carter INX nib), condition unknown

Carter's Vintage Fountain Pen (Carter INX nib), condition unknown.
I describe each item to the best of my ability.  This is a vintage Carters fountain pen.   As you can see in the picture the mechanism does move.  I do not know whether the internals of this pen work or not.  I attempted to take pictures of the writing on the pen but it didn't turn out very well. Pen is just above 4 1/4" long with cap on.  I have inspected the cap and barrel and see no cracks.
I am assisting with an estate the gentleman had quite a collection of fountain pens, mechanical pencils and ballpoint pens.
