    Nice quality chalkware bas-relief plaque commemorating Joffre's strategic victory at the First Battle of the Marne, 1914. Features Joffre with French Army troops advancing in the background. Size about 10x7.5". Appears to be a copy from the bronze plaque done by artist Louis Octave Mattel. Old and faded red/white ribbon attached to hanger at top. Unmarked on back. Excellent condition.
