Here's an early pontiled Rowland's Macassar Oil For The Hair bottle that we dug from an 1840s outhouse privy pit ....

(boldly emb around bottle on 4 sides)....Open Pontil....crude rolled in lip...aqua....rect....3 1/2"tall....Excellent condition with only one small shallow chip on very bottom; no other damage.  A dug bottle but pretty clean.  Macassar Oil was a very popular hair dressing in the early 1800s when men slicked back their hair with oil. This bottle comes out of my own personal collection... a bold emb Rowland's "Kirby St" variant
