insurance.   We do NOT insure International orders unless buyer specifically requests this and we are able to provide an insurance estimate.  If an international shipping charge is much more than the actual shipping cost, we will refund the excess so what YOU pay for shipping/insurance is very close to, if not exactly, the ACTUAL shipping costs! This is important for foreign buyers to know as most of our foreign shipping charges are estimates.  We do not falsify information on the Customs Form, such as a price other than what the actual purchase price is, so please do not request us to do so. We ship several times a week and your prompt payment will hasten the turn-around time.
Just a beautifully designed small antique French Perfume bottle that is typical of the ones that made their way out west where it was discovered over a century past when it was emptied.  The stopper
    IS
the correct stopper to the bottle and it is
    NOT
stuck but goes in and out of the neck freely.   What is sad is that we broke the stopper ourselves.  It slid out of the bottle and landed on a cement floor and that was that.   But overlooking this, t
he bottle is very attractive, the embossing, label, original ground-glass stopper, fancy lettering, and the pure purple color
.   More about the purple color
... you hear about old glass turning purple in the sunlight ... The beautiful purple amethyst color of this bottle is the result of being made with manganese in the glass, a mineral that was pulverized and added to vats of liquid glass that acted as a decolorizing agent to turn the natural aqua-tinted glass into a pure crystal clear colorless glass.  Exposure to ultraviolet rays of the sun or other sources of UV rays, triggers a chemical reaction and the manganese oxidizes and turns a wonderful amethyst color.  This bottle has been exposed to a high heat/light source to enrich the purple color that would naturally occur if exposed to sun light for a prolonged period of time.   With few exceptions, only glass made before 1914 will turn purple.  Not only does this deep purple/amethyst color make this a great looking bottle, but it also authenticates it as being truly antique
    .
All of this together makes for a a HARD TO FIND antique BOTTLE that is rather exquisite looking
