    Description

These are a very nice pair of trousers worn by the French soldier at the beginning of WWI, in 1914. The "madder red" wool trousers eventually gave way to something more appropriate for the world war, by by being covered with dark overalls, or totally replaced by early 1915. These were worn for a single, special commemorative event, so are in virtually new condition. They are made of a good Kersey-like wool, cotton twill lined in areas on the interior, and use French stamped buttons throughout. These are large, measuring 20 inches at the waist, with the rear adjustment belt partially tightened. Therefore, they can be made smaller, if needed. The inseam measures at about 29 inches. Examine the photos, and ask questions, as this is being sold as is.
