Description: The Pablo family had leading roles in both Morongo government and religious life in the late 19th and early 20th centuries when this basket would have been woven and the women of the Pablo family were known as expert weavers according an article on the Agua Caliente Museum website (see article at : https://www.accmuseum.org/Pablo-Drive ) The Morongo Band of Mission Indians is located in Riverside County in Southern California and includes members of primarily Cahuilla and Serrano tribal heritage.
