insurance. We do NOT insure International orders unless buyer specifically requests this and we are able to provide an insurance estimate. If an international shipping charge is much more than the actual shipping cost, we will refund the excess so what YOU pay for shipping/insurance is very close to, if not exactly, the ACTUAL shipping costs! This is important for foreign buyers to know as most of our foreign shipping charges are estimates. We do not falsify information on the Customs Form, such as a price other than what the actual purchase price is, so please do not request us to do so. We ship several times a week and your prompt payment will hasten the turn-around time.
This bottle is ironic in that it has all of the earmarks of a new machine made bottle but it also has a fairly advanced purple color to it, which with very few exceptions, only antique glass has.
The PURPLE PRESENCE is much deeper than what the picture portrays.
So on one hand it is a newer ABM machine made screw top bottle that is not particularly collectible BUT when you note the PURPLE TINT that the glass has, it makes it
an anomaly of an old bottle
. One will see very few machine made screw top bottles that were made early enough to turn purple. The automatic bottle machine came into use in 1903 and purple glass was being phased out by 1915, so this bottle would be from about 1910. In 1910 there were many bottles still being blown into mold by hand but here is a machine made bottle, and one of the very earliest examples to be blown with machine, as the color testifies to. As a result,
it is a contradiction of an old bottle
; it has the purple color of
a very old bottle
but it is a machine made screw top bottle,
a fairly new bottle
,
