USS OMAHA: One
of the Navy's newest littoral combat ships was commissioned
at San Diego.
on 3 February 2018.
The ceremony marked the formal entrance of this 418
foot tri-hull ship into the fleet. The USS Omaha
is capable of fighting air, surface and
subsurface battles simultaneously. The ship contains a number of offensive
and defensive weapons designed to support maritime defense needs in close to shore
situations well into the
21st century. This proud new ship will be home-ported at San Diego, CA.
